Welcome to our information WEB page, here you can find out about the valuable and important work that the 'Friends of Portishead Health Centre' do for the local community health centre. We have also included all the forms you will need to become a 'friend' and how your valuable donation will be used with examples of equipment purchased by the charity.

The Friends of Portishead  Health Centre  was set up as a charity in 1993 and is registered with the Charity Commission.

“The Friends” exist with the principal aim of providing patients of Portishead Health Centre with facilities and equipment which would not otherwise be available to them. In addition, residents of Portishead who are sick, convalescent, disabled or handicapped and in need of assistance are eligible to apply to the Trust for help.

The Trustees administer the charity’s funds with recommendations and guidance on local needs from the professional staff of the Health Centre.

“The Friends” depend for their funds solely on the generosity of the people of Portishead and welcome your gifts (corporate and personal), donations from special fund raising events, legacies and “In  Memoriam” donations.

Recent major purchases by “The Friends” for  the Portishead Health Centre include:-

Dr Roger Pardoe and Mr Martyn Cruse (Chairman & Treasurer respectively of the Charity) presenting equipment to Portishead Health Centre. Mr R Barker presenting a suction unit, in memory of his late wife, to Dr. Roger Pardoe who accepted it on behalf of the charity in August 1994
