Who are we?
The Portishead Concert Band was formed over 30 years ago and has been practising and performing locally ever since. It is a wind band or military band consisting of a combination of brass and wood-wind instruments plus a drummer.
Our aim is to provide the enjoyment of playing along with other like-minded, music loving people of all ages. We practise at St.Nicholas Church, Nore Rd., Portishead every Tuesday from 7.30 to 9.00 pm.
We would be very pleased to welcome new players. If you think that you would like to join us why not come along to one of our practice sessions. There is no audition but it is recommended that you should be able to play your instrument and be able to read music. It is not possible to give individual tuition in the band, though this can be obtained locally.
The age range is wide, from pre-teens to over 70. If you have experience of playing then you would be particularly valuable to our band.

We invite players of all ages and experience to join our friendly band and weekly rehearsals and regular concert venues. Our repertoire includes:
